Solar facilities and associated equipments
The service SISIA (Solar facilities and associated equipments) operates the eleven mid-size solar furnaces (MSSF: from 1 to 6 kW) and the big 1000kW solar furnace (MWSF) based at the Odeillo site (Figures 1, 2 and 3).
This group has two missions: the first is the maintenance, improvement and optimization of the solar facilities; the second is the technical support and participation in all research and contractual operations that use these facilities.
These six people possess a large number of skills, from control of the safety and maintenance of the installations to the design and set-up of complex experimental.
To summarize these skills and achievements, we note that they have established the following:
- A solar meteorological system
- The development of methods to characterize the solar furnaces
- The optimization of the control of the heliostats
- Installation of complex experiments
