Doctoral students’ cell
The Cellule d’Initiative des Doctorants aims at supporting and accompanying the PhD students in their life within the laboratory, and at encouraging exchanges on various scientific subjects. It gathers all the staff of the laboratory and is managed by several animators (Odeillo and Perpignan sites) who take care of the good progress of the organized activities, such as the café-débats which allow the members of the laboratory to present their research work and to discuss it with the others. It works with the other Cellules d’Initiatives in order to make the link between non-permanent staff (post-doctoral fellows, PhD students, etc.) and permanent staff. In addition, the Cellule can help with the integration of non-permanent staff and tries to find solutions to problems encountered by some people, either by taking direct action or by reporting the problems to the laboratory management.
Towards Equality of Vision and Opportunity unit
The “Towards Equality of Views and Opportunities” cell reflects a desire to reflect, inform, demystify, and make people aware that our actions and words are unconsciously based on biases and prejudices linked to the specificities (gender, origin, orientation, etc.) of the people we are addressing, and which can harm the serenity of our exchanges.
The unit will initially focus on gender equality issues. The objectives would be in particular to establish a report on our practices in the laboratory (recruitment, promotion, composition of bodies, etc.) and to find a common vocabulary (to recall key definitions, to identify attitudes and formulations to be preferred, to harmonize our methods of communication).
The cell’s missions can thus be summarized in three key points: to be informed, to inform and raise awareness, to consult and advise.
Scientific animation and internal communication unit
The role of the Scientific Animation and Internal Communication unit goes far beyond the simple transmission of information to the people who work and collaborate together in the PROMES laboratory. It is also an essential lever of cohesion and motivation that the laboratory must seize.
The main missions of the Scientific Animation and Internal Communication Unit at PROMES are the transmission of information and cohesion within the laboratory. Internal communication is the set of communication actions implemented internally for all the collaborators. In order to be effective and to play its role fully, internal communication is developed through the following stages:
– Taking stock of the situation to design an optimal strategy
– Make the internal communication strategy understood
– Involve the stakeholders in the project:
– Execute the strategy
– Reviewing the strategy over the long term.
Database and External Communication Unit
PROMES’ external communication is based on a positioning strategy for the laboratory in its environment. In other words, what is the brand identity that the laboratory wishes to communicate to its stakeholders.
External communication is the whole of the forms and processes of communication towards the outside world and target groups. It plays a fundamental role for the notoriety and the image of the laboratory.
PROMES’ external communication is integrated into its strategic vision.
It must also integrate the dimensions of the laboratory’s notoriety, the collective image, the messages transmitted and the external stakeholders.
To do this, the Database and External Communication Unit relies on a communication plan.
Eco Responsible Laboratory Unit
This unit is part of the global policy to reduce environmental impacts and its purpose is to reflect on several strategic areas (in a collegial manner) on the following themes :
– Responsible behavior in the office (waste, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, water….)
– Soft and electric mobility
– Improving the energy performance of buildings
– Draw up an annual report on the actions taken and set new objectives for the coming year
– Assessment of the laboratory’s greenhouse gas emissions (BEGES).
– Any proposal for consideration in this context……..
Valorization Unit
The role of the Valorization unit is to reinforce the actions to better sensitize the research staff of the laboratory to the valorisation of their work, as well as to the protection of their results that can lead to technological innovations. In close connection with the “communication” unit, the “Valorization” unit also leads a reflection to propose strategies allowing to increase the visibility of the various scientific and technical competences specific to the laboratory, as well as the unique means at disposal to reinforce the industrial collaborations, to intensify structuring Lab/company partnerships and to support new interfaces between the laboratory and the industrial world. The second main mission of the CNRS is to “valorize our research results”, i.e. to contribute to the transfer of acquired knowledge to society.
